Hindu Pushups

That is the reaction I typically get when I mention these small pushup wonders to one of my customers. Relatively unknown, Hindu pushups are a variation of their well identified counterpart, the pushup. Perhaps you’ve heard of Dive Bomber pushups before? Well, if not, here’s a video:

Both the Dive bomber pushup and Hindu pushup are nearly the same except for one slight difference. With Dive bomber pushups, you should bend the arms once more when you go back towards the starting position. Check this out to see how Hindu pushups are performed:

See the difference? In the course of a Hindu pushup, you return to the starting position on a distinct path then you took throughout the very first component of the exercise. In the dive bomber, you return to the starting position in the identical manner you took on the way down.

The Best Way To Perform Hindu Pushups

Start off just like you would for a regular pushup in the “up” position (together with your arms fully extended). Have your feet spread wider than your shoulder width.

Slowly walk your hands backwards until your butt points straight to the air and your arms and legs are positioned perfectly straight. When other folks would look at your side, it would seem as if you’re in an upside-down “V” position.

Begin bending your elbows so your body begins to move forward towards the ground. As your head nears the ground, start arching your back until you are looking towards the ceiling. Straighten your arms all through this movement.

While keeping your arms straight, push yourself back towards the starting position.

*Note: You should perform the whole procedure in a flowing motion, as if you are a wave crashing into the shore. Stay away from getting too clunky. You ought to also exhale while you are facing towards the ceiling.

The Advantages of Hindu Pushups

At first, Hindu pushups might seem like an over-glorified shoulder workout. Do several dozen of these and you will rapidly realize otherwise. Not only do they target your shoulders, they also work your arms, chest, back, and legs. They are going to increase your overall body strength, but where this workout shines is in its capability to boost your stamina and flexibility.

When to Perform Them

The Shrink Wrap Effect

Once you choose Hindu pushups as your workout, you need to perform high repetitions of it to benefit from it. Consequently, if you are under a regular strength training program, this pushup just isn’t a good thought. If you would like to improve your body’s strength and size, greater weights and lower repetitions are better options. But, the Hindu pushup is really a really great type of physical exercise and can be a good component of your calisthenics routine. You can also perform it if you do not have access towards the gym, or you prefer to exercise in the comforts of your room, or if you want an excellent variation from your usual exercise routine.
